Publications
The BACPAR journal is published twice a year. Regular features include research, treatment notes and case studies, information on professional issues, BACPAR officer reports, correspondence, general news, and advertises forthcoming events and courses. This is free to all BACPAR members.
BACPAR welcomes articles written by members or by others who work is of interest and relevance to the members e.g. a appraisals of a research article, or a report in an area of interest, or from a courses attended that you think may have information of value to other members. Should you wish to submit something you can contact the Honorary Journal Officer via the PRO Anne Berry. Deadline for the autumn issue is August 31st 2008.
Amputee Rehabilitation - a guideline for the education of students (144Kb PDF file), formulated by a BACPAR working party, has been updated recently and is now available as a downloadable document. It is also available via iCSP.
Clinical guidelines for the pre and post operative physiotherapy management of adults with lower limb amputation published in 2006, and Evidence based clinical guidelines for physiotherapy management of adults with lower limb prostheses (2003) are available from the CSP website www.csp.org.uk and www.library.nhs.uk. The latter guidelines are currently being updated. Hard copies of both these guidelines are available for purchase from the CSP.
